About the Organization:

Boreal Housing Foundation provides affordable, safe, and supportive housing for seniors, individuals, and families across northwest Alberta. Governed by a Board representing three municipalities and four First Nation communities, the Foundation delivers a range of housing programs supporting low- and modest-income residents with a total of 274 housing units, housing approximately 500+ individuals. 

Boreal Housing Foundation employs 30 employees (full time and part time) which includes Admin, Management and Maintenance, with the head office located in High Level and a Regional office in Fort Vermilion.

Position Summary:

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day operations of Boreal Housing Foundation.

Working in close partnership with the Board, the CAO ensures the organization’s vision, mission, and objectives are achieved through strong governance support, operational leadership, financial stewardship, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide executive leadership and operational oversight
• Support and advise the Board on governance, policy, and strategy
• Lead strategic, operational, and capital planning
• Oversee housing programs, services, and staff performance
• Manage budgets, financial planning, and fiscal sustainability
• Build strong relationships with municipalities, First Nations, funders, and community partners
